Recently I have been doing a lot of research on my hormones and the importance that their harmony and balance play in my everyday life as a woman. Some of the side effects of having your hormones out of balance include but are not limited to, mood swings, fatigue, hair loss, low libido, depression, weight gain, insomnia and so much more. I never knew this was the case until recently when I started looking into how hormonal birth control can really mess up our bodies natural hormonal production and throw us completely out of sync in our own bodies.
I put this tea together to help with hormones, but also too help with monthly aches and pains that come along with being a strong and vibrant woman. I have always been fascinated by herbalism and the power of Mother Nature. The plants that God has blessed us with can heal, dilute pain, and reduce inflammation among so many other things.
From the knowledge that I have obtained over the last few years, I have put together a Hormone & Menstrual Tea that is meant to aid with cramping, bloating, pain and heavy bleeding.
Ingredients
Rose – great for supporting your nether regions to reduce itching, dryness, cramping and excessive bleeding. Rose is also an excellent source of vitamin C. High in antioxidants as well as being an anti-bacterial, rose can help to fight acne and to rehydrate skin.
Yarrow – a powerful herb that is an all around “first aid herb”. This herb has been used to help regulate menstrual flow, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, cramping and endometriosis.
Nettle – a nutrient dense plant that helps to balance hormones and blood sugar. Nettle is also specifically beneficial to the kidneys and the endocrine system. Very helpful for endometriosis as well as menopause/andropause.
Red Raspberry Leaf – most commonly associated with womb health, red raspberry leaf is great for strengthening your uterus, helping to reduce heavy periods and cramping. It is also a great source of Iron.
Cinnamon Sticks – warming and moistening, cinnamon is great for assisting with bloating due to it being a relaxant. It is also great with helping with PCOS and fevers.
The Process
Grab all of the ingredients listed above and put 1/2 tbsp of each into a tea bag or tea infuser of your choice.
Heat up as much water for your mug of choice
Poor over and let sit for 3-5 minutes.
The longer you leave the tea in the boiling water the more bitter the tea will become. Add a dash of honey to assist with the bitterness if you would like.
Now, go enjoy your cup of tea with some chocolate.
I hope this helps to aid you in your wonderful life journey!
Enjoy your tea time!
Cheers 🖤
